Pre-Registered Apprenticeship Program (Pre-RAP)
Prepares individuals to enter and succeed in a RAP by focusing on increasing literacy, math, and work readiness skills.

Apprentices in the biomedical sciences industry will work in a laboratory setting within academic institutions or private research companies. Apprentices should have an interest in science and will learn proper research techniques and lab safety.
Biomedical Technician Training Pre-Apprenticeship and Biomedical Research Technician Apprenticeship Program
The Wistar Institute
Location: Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties
Wistar is a world leader in early-stage discovery science in the areas of cancer, immunology, and infectious disease. Their Biomedical Technician Training (BTT) Pre-Apprenticeship Program provides pre-apprentices with the background in molecular and cellular biology and the laboratory skills they will need to enter the Biomedical Research Technician (BRT) Apprenticeship Program and/or obtain positions as laboratory technicians or research assistants in the life sciences. Wistar’s BRT Apprenticeship provides a career pathway in a research laboratory environment. Through advanced training, apprentices acquire skill sets to facilitate experimental procedures, manage a laboratory and monitor lab safety, conduct data analysis on experiments, and other highly-skilled techniques with the goal of supporting a lead scientist and staff in the laboratory to advance scientific hypotheses and outcomes.
BTT Pre-Apprenticeship Prerequisites: 16 years of age; high school diploma/GED, and college-level pre-requisite courses in biology, chemistry, math, English and applied computer technology. Applications are accepted between October and February for a May start date.
BRT Apprenticeship Prerequisites: Must have graduated the BTT Pre-Apprenticeship to enter the BRT Apprenticeship.

Painter, Glazier, Drywall Finisher and Wall Covering Apprenticeships
Finishing Trades Institute of the Mid-Atlantic Region
Location: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
The mission of the Finishing Trades Institute of the Mid-Atlantic Region (FTI) is to supply area contractors with the most highly skilled craftspeople in the construction industry. There are Registered Apprenticeships available through FTI in the following fields: Architectural Glass & Metal Installers (Glaziers), Coatings Applicator Specialist (Industrial Painters), Commercial Paint & Wall Covering, Drywall Finishing, Glassworkers, and Multi-Craft Decorators. Apprentices receive numerous credentials throughout the program and Glazier Apprentices earn a specialize associates degree in glazing at the completion of their apprenticeship.

International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Apprenticeship
International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Worker Local Union 14 Joint Apprenticeship Committee (IAHFIAW LU14 JAC)
Location: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers JAC (LU14) Training Center prepares apprentices in Mechanical Insulation. The trade consists of insulating heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water and plumbing pipes in commercial buildings, power plants, and residential developments. using fiberglass, calcium silicate, foamed rubber products, insulating foams and loose fill products. IAHFIAW LU14 JAC is also in the asbestos abatement industry. Apprentices are trained and certified in asbestos removal and fitted with proper safety equipment.
This five year program is divided into two 6-month semesters beginning in March and September. Apprentices receive 80 hours of classroom training and 900 hours of on-the-job training each semester.

With an apprenticeship in health and human services you’ll be helping people meet their healthcare needs. Apprentices may work in a hospital or home setting caring for individuals or within a business or store providing health services.
Devereux Direct Support Professional Apprenticeship
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health
Locations: Chester County
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country, using a unique model that connects the latest scientific and medical advancements to practical, effective interventions in the treatment of behavioral health. Apprentices will become fully trained as direct support professionals through on-the-job learning, mentoring, and career growth opportunities. Direct support professionals provide one-on-one or group care to children and adults in educational, community-based, and residential programs. Certification as a qualified direct support professional is given at the end of the one-year apprenticeship.

Overview
Apprenticeships are a stepping-stone into skilled IT roles. In an IT apprenticeship, you’ll earn industry certifications and experience. Employers range from small start-ups to large corporations. Pre-apprenticeships in IT will provide the computer and digital skills necessary to enter an apprenticeship for those who may not have a tech background.
Career Readiness Soft-Skills Pre-Apprenticeship
Community College of Philadelphia

The Career Readiness Soft Skills (CRS) Pre-Apprenticeship Program provides participants with a strong foundation in the application of workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, work habits, life skills, and budget basics. A basic math refresher is also included to reintroduce key math concepts needed to successfully enter affiliated Apprenticeship Programs, employment, or further study. The Career Readiness Soft Skills Pre-Apprenticeship Program consists of 8 courses spanning 64 hours of education. In addition, participants will participate in ACT WorkKeys Curriculum, and will take the TABE or CASAS assessments and the assessment for the National Career Readiness Certification at the culmination of the course. Includes 3 digital micro-credentials (Communication and Collaboration; Critical Thinking and Creativity; and Life and Career Skills) that add up to the larger Career Readiness Pre-Apprenticeship Digital Badge. The Career Readiness Skills pre-apprenticeship aligns with the Philadelphia Information Technology Opportunities Collaborative registered apprenticeship program.

Digital Service Fellow Pre-Apprenticeship
Urban Technology Project (UTP)
Location: Philadelphia County
In partnership with the School District of Philadelphia and Launch of Philadelphia, the Urban Technology Project (UTP) offers an AmeriCorps Pre-Apprenticeship program blending community service, leadership development, and Computer Science mentoring. Participants in the AmeriCorps Pre-Apprenticeship build capacity in Philadelphia schools by mentoring students interested in Computer Science. Digital Service Fellow Pre-Apprentices have the opportunity to enter the Urban Technology Project’s Computer Support Specialist Apprenticeship upon completing the pre-apprenticeship.

Computer Support Specialist Apprenticeship
Urban Technology Project (UTP)

Cybersecurity Support Technician Apprenticeship

The Cybersecurity Support Technician apprenticeship prepares you to begin working in the in-demand and high paying cybersecurity industry as a Cybersecurity Support Technician. Cybersecurity Support Technicians play an essential role in safeguarding all aspects of their employers’ information technology systems. They are tasked with monitoring, directing, containing and remediating information technology threats for the protection of computer networks and company information. Our registered cybersecurity apprenticeship program provides upskilling and reskilling opportunities to those who have hit a ceiling of opportunity in their place of work or are in a career pivot.

Overview
Advanced manufacturing apprentices will assist with the production of goods often in a factory setting. Specific roles include machinists, tool and die makers, plastics fabricators, and more. These roles are often physical in nature and also require an understanding of math and design, which will be learned during the apprenticeship.

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Pre-Apprenticeship Program
Community College of Philadelphia
Location: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (IMM) Pre-Apprenticeship Program provides participants with foundational knowledge in four areas: fluid power, industrial electricity, mechanical components, and programmable logic controllers. The program builds toward a basic understanding of mechatronics, the synergistic application of mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering, combined with computer science to build and maintain high-tech equipment. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Pre-Apprenticeship Program consists of 5 courses spanning 284 hours of education. In addition, participants will participate in ACT WorkKeys Curriculum, and will take the TABE or CASAS assessments and the assessment for the National Career Readiness Certification at the culmination of the course. Pre-Apprentices will be able to take 4 Mechatronics Certification Tests, offered by the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies in: Fluid Power 1, Industrial Electricity 1, Mechanical Components 1, and Programmable Logic Controllers 1. The IMM pre-apprenticeship aligns with JEVS Human Services Philadelphia’s Tri-State Advanced Manufacturing registered apprenticeship program.

Registered Apprenticeship Navigator
Keystone Development Partnership (KDP)
Location: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties
KDP developed the Registered Apprenticeship (RA) Navigator program for workforce intermediaries to help expand apprenticeship throughout the Commonwealth. The RA Navigator is an apprenticeship program that trains people to develop and manage apprenticeship programs. RA Navigators help grow the apprenticeship ecosystem through regional partnerships and provide technical assistance to unions, employers, industry associations, community organizations, training providers, and the workforce system. The one-year apprenticeship program includes 2,000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) plus 144 hours of Related Technical Instruction (RTI) provided via Zoom. The program also uses online collaboration platforms to support the RTI, facilitate discussions, and provide additional resources.
Prerequisites: Must be age 18+, have a High School Diploma or GED/Equivalency, and be employed in a full-time position focused on business engagement.
