Enrollment Period: Open Enrollments: Q1 (February/March), Q2 (May/June), Q4 (October/November).

Length of Program: It is a 4-year program that requires 8,000 hours of on-the-job-training and 576 hours of related technical instruction training. The school year session is a 36-week lesson schedule that runs from August/September to April/May. The offset year session is a 36-week lesson schedule that runs from January to August of that calendar year.

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be 17 years or older

Must obtain a valid driver’s license, birth certificate, and social security card (all 3 items are submitted)
Must submit high school transcripts (if obtained a GED, no transcript is necessary)
Submit 3 letters of reference (cannot be from a family member)
Submit the completed Application for IEC Electrician Apprenticeship Program
Complete a drug screening assessment
Complete an online reading and math aptitude assessment (not a pass or fail assessment)

CREDENTIALS EARNED
Apprentices will receive their First Aid & CPR training during curriculum year 1 and year 3 of the 4-year program. Once an apprentice has obtained their 8,000 OJT hours and 576 RTI hours, they will receive a journeyworker certificate from the PA Department of Labor and Industry.
HOW TO APPLY
The open enrollment process is available on the IEC Pennsylvania website. If hired by an IEC Pennsylvania Electrical Contractor Member the cost of the tuition for the 4-year program is paid for by the employer. No debt training towards an electrical career!
